Dr. Barry D. Wagenberg - DMD

Biography Text: Dr. Wagenberg received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1971. He received a certificate in Periodontics from Columbia University in 1974 and served as a Major in the United States Air Force for two years Robbins Air Force Base, Warner Robbins Georgia. Dr. Wagenberg has authored one textbook, contributed a chapter in 4 textbooks and authored thirty-two articles. Dr. Wagenberg has delivered over 100 lectures in both periodontics and implant dentistry. He has served as program chairman for the American Academy of Periodontics and chairman of the Mucogingival and Augmentation Section of the World Workshop of Periodontics. Dr. Wagenberg is a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontics and served 6 years as a member of the Board of Trustees of the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Wagenberg has been honored as the 2014 Master Clinician of the American Academy of Periodontology, the Northeast Society of Periodontists Isidor Hirschfeld Award and the Northeast Society of Periodontists Irwin Scopp Award. He is Director of Dental Education and Periodontics at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry at New York University School of Dentistry. Dr. Wagenberg is a fellow of the International and American College of Dentists, the American Academy of Oral Medicine, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the American Academy of Osseointegration and the American Academy of Periodontology. He has been in full time private practice in New Jersey since 1976.
