Biography Text: Dr. Sonia Leziy, periodontist, maintains a full-time practice in Nanaimo/BC. She has been awarded several teaching awards, including the Lucy Hobbs Award for mentorship (2013), the Saul Schluger Award for excellence in teaching and education (2014); the recipient of the 2022 American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry Distinguished Lecturer Award, and the 2022 Greater NY Academy of Prosthodontics Distinguished Lecturer Award, and she is recognized by Dentistry Today as a leader in continuing education. She is a member of numerous editorial boards, and is published in the areas of implant esthetics, digital workflows and soft tissue therapies, including the Dermal ARC protocol. She is a member of the Canadian Academy of Perio, American Academy of Perio, the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and a fellow of the ITI. She is editor of the implant section of Inside Dentistry/Aegis Publications. She is a member of the ITI Board of studies. She lectures internationally, and provides education programs through Vancouver Island Dental Specialists (www.videntalspecialists.com).
