Description

This session will provide a systematic approach for the diagnosis and treatment planning of the patient with excess gingival display, using a common language that may be used by the periodontist, orthodontist, and oral and maxillofacial surgeon, as well as the restorative dentist. The emphasis will be on the “4 Global Diagnoses” which dictate all interdisciplinary treatment planning. A set of the “5 Core Questions” will then be presented which will aid the interdisciplinary team in the diagnosis and treatment planning of the complex dental patient.

  • • Identify and describe the 4 Global Diagnoses.
  • • Recognize the “5 CORE Questions” with their corresponding treatment options.
  • • Describe the etiologies of excess gingival display.
  • • Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team.
