Periodontists who offer moderate sedation understand the immense benefits it provides particularly when treating fearful and anxious patients. With that benefit also comes a great deal of responsibility in protecting patients. Developing a response plan, preparing your team, reviewing and practicing mock drills are all crucial steps to prepare for navigating through these difficult situations. We will review basic concepts and introduce tips and tricks for common emergency scenarios.
