Corporate Forum - AAP Annual Meeting 2024

The AAP 2024 Corporate Forum will be held Thursday, October 31 from 1-4:45 p.m. at the San Diego Convention Center on the Mezzanine Level in Rooms 14-19.

Each 45-minute session offers a unique opportunity to view the latest scientific and clinical innovations in the field of periodontology. The Academy is offering over 40+ industry-hosted presentations which are open to all Annual Meeting attendees at no additional charge.

Meeting attendees do not need to pick up registration badges in advance and can simply show up to the Corporate Forum and select any session to attend. The AAP does not offer CE credit for the Corporate Forum, however some companies may provide CE credit.

 Peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis following successful osseointegration of functionally loaded implants have become recognized as significant problems in implant dentistry. A thorough presurgical treatment plan is crucial to meet patients’ esthetic expectation. This includes the timing of implant placement, the selection of the type of implant, its three-dimensional position using surgical guides, the reconstruction of lost tissues, and the prosthetic phase. Additionally, soft tissue manipulation and grafting play a key role on the long-term stability of the soft tissue margin, volume, and peri-implant health parameters. The present lecture will illustrate the importance of treatment planning for immediate, early, and delayed implant placement from a soft tissue, esthetic, and patient-centered perspective.

Augmentation of Ridge Defects with Custom Printed Titanium Mesh

Ridge augmentation of alveolar ridge defects is a procedure that is often necessary in order to have dental implants placed. Although often challenging, minor defects can typically be grafted with resorbable membranes. The larger the defect, and the more vertical augmentation needed, increased stability of the graft/membrane complex becomes more critical to success. This involves the use of non-resorbable membranes or meshes, which inherently have their own challenges due to the need to conform to the surgical site. While dental implants have arguably been considered one of the most significant advances in dental treatment, they are not impervious to biologic complications. While the percentage ranges of implants affected exhibits a wide range, the periodontist is clearly faced with a challenging dilemma. In addition, many periodontists are seeing more cases of peri-implantitis as we see literally hundreds of implant manufacturers come and go, minimally trained clinicians attempting advanced grafting and implant installations with little in the way of convincing data. Enhancing Hard and Soft Tissue Regeneration Using Xenogenous Cross-Linked Collagen Matrices/Scaffolds

The question is which are better and what are the differences? Therefore, it seems that there is a dual effect on both the hard and soft tissues.
